Learn the fundamentals of ballet, with traditional barre and center work covering a range of exercises to improve posture, flexibility and strength. All are welcome, ages 14+, whether you are new to dance, returning after a long time, or looking to cross-train. Please wear fitted clothing and leather or canvas ballet slippers (or socks, first class only). See the folks at Petit Jete Dance Boutique in Brunswick for shoe fitting!

Delve into movement, music, and tradition in a warm and supportive environment. Learn the belly dance vocabulary, put the movements together into combinations, and learn a full dance. We will also learn about finger cymbals and the rhythms of middle eastern dance. Total beginners welcome! Open to people of all genders.


Level 2: Continuing Belly Dance — Rosa Noreen

Students who have completed Level 1 are welcome to move into Level 2. In this class, we will build on the fundamentals learned in Level 1, adding layering, traveling steps, new movements and finger cymbal patterns. Students will also learn about must-know songs, and begin improvisation exercises. This class helps students grow into dancers, delving deeper into belly dance technique and musicality.

Lunchtime Groove — Joie Grandbois

Let’s dance!!! Lunchtime Groove is a 50 minute mid-day movement fitness class that draws on a variety of contemporary dance styles including belly dance, disco, modern, line dancing, you might even see the macarena! Each class will include a short warmup, a dance session to get your heart pumping, a gentle cool down, and a whole lot of fun!

Lunchtime Groove is open to adults (18+) of all genders, no dance experience necessary.

We live in a stressful world where our thoughts are often focused on past mistakes and worries about the future. We live in our heads and taking time for ourselves is generally an afterthought. Embodied Meditation is an hour, a once a week that takes you out of your thoughts and into the now of your body.

Guided by Joie Grandbois, each class begins with a meditative body check in followed by a moving meditation focused on creating connection, compassion, and love for yourself and your body. The class closes with a gentle affirmation to help you bring this sense of embodiment back into the world and through the rest of your week.

There will be time in class for journaling your experience. Moving meditation is accompanied by live music. One hour a week just for you and your body. Classes are open to adults (18+) of all genders.
