Learn the fundamentals of ballet, with traditional barre and center work covering a range of exercises to improve posture, flexibility and strength. All are welcome, ages 14+, whether you are new to dance, returning after a long time, or looking to cross-train. Level 2: Continuing Belly Dance — Rosa Noreen

Students who have completed Level 1 are welcome to move into Level 2. In this class, we will build on the fundamentals learned in Level 1, adding layering, traveling steps, new movements and finger cymbal patterns. Students will also learn about must-know songs, and begin improvisation exercises. This class helps students grow into dancers, delving deeper into belly dance technique and musicality.


Beginner Burlesque — Kinky Slippers

Let loose as you learn the basics of burlesque! Reignite the passion in your life and join local burlesque dancer Kinky Slippers for a beginner burlesque class. Grasp the grind, bump the booty, and discover your inner strength and sensuality in a friendly and encouraging setting. Students will move with confidence through dance exercises and choreography, and learn how to capture an audience.

People of all levels, genders, and backgrounds are welcomed and affirmed. No dance experience necessary!

Belly Dance Soloist Development — Rosa Noreen

Learn to develop your own solo belly dance piece! In this class, Rosa will guide students in creating their own solo belly dance piece, with the option to perform in a friends-and-family studio show at the end of the course.

Over the course of seven 2-hour classes, students will create their own solo belly dance piece. You'll select a song (2-4 minutes long), learn to map the music, choose an appropriate dance style, learn both improvisation and choreography skills, stage presence and other performance skills, interacting with a show producer, and more.

Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music, originating from Angola. It is music with a romantic flow. It was the Kimbundu name for a dance in Angola as early as 1894. The kizomba dancing style is also known to be very sensual.

Burlesque Performance Class — Kinky Slippers

This class is for anyone who has ever been to a burlesque show and thought “I want to do that!”

In this class we will learn fully choreographed routines, how to own the stage, and how to develop a solo routine. At the end of the class each student will have an opportunity to perform on stage in a supportive and empowering environment. (There will be opportunities for solos for those that are interested, but we will also be doing group numbers together) Performances are not required, but highly encouraged! Please be advised that cheers and applause following a performance are highly addictive.

People of all levels, genders, and backgrounds are welcomed and affirmed. It is recommended to take the Beginner Burlesque class on Sundays first.
